New Screencap from a 4.5 Trailer

Any Gaeta fans wish to speculate on this?

Gaeta and Zarek in the Brig (thanks to [info]triniroslin15</lj> for cap!)

Judging by the handshake I'm guessing this is the scene where Gaeta and Zarek forge their rebellion plans. But why is Gaeta in the Brig in the first place? Has he already started some uproar? Why has Zarek come to visit him? Or is it Zarek in the Brig being visited by Gaeta?

Whatever is going on with Gaeta it's looking like a very major plotline.

Judging by the extra chair they placed in the brig, I take it Gaeta is not there as an inmate, but in his function as an officer.

Well, they put a chair in the cell for Boomer too.

The end of the webisodes suggest that Gaeta is trying to set up a meeting with Zarek (unless the "him" was refering to Baltar), I'm just a little surprised by the Brig setting. Maybe Gaeta got himself locked up to get Zarek's attention?

I've heard rumors that Zarek gets himself tossed into the brig (which I find totally believable). I can see Gaeta going to him. Although from the body language, I'm guessing they aren't about to hug ;) And sadly, I'd guess an extra chair shows up pretty much anywhere where Gaeta is.

I think it's just the light, but it almost looks like Felix is wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

Interesting that the cell door is still wide open. Oooh! Maybe Gaeta's secretly springing Zarek!!!! Actually, as I think about it, that makes a LOT of sense. Just meeting with Zarek shouldn't be giving Felix reason to say goodbye to Hoshi the way he did. But springing Zarek... that means Gaeta's off the Galactica for good, and yeah, may never see Hoshi again.

I like this. I like this idea a lot. (And not just cause I wrote it ;) )

Tis just the light, yeah (I wear a hoodie all the time because I am a rebellious punk ;P). Looks like his uniforms even more ill-fitting than we're used too. -_- I'm wondering if he's high on the painkillers in this shot, 'cause he's clearly not using a crutch judging by the stance/posture/whatever.

I like that Zarek can still get himself Brigged at a time when all the cylons are walking around free. Really, I can totally see why this alliance is driving some people to rebellion. There really should be a little more investigation into both the cylon rebels and the final five. Lee was so quick to give them amnesty - yet Anders has crippled Gaeta, Tory has murdered Cally, a Six killed one of the Demetrius crew, an Eight killed the Raptor crew, etc. But let's just brush these little issues under the carpet and put Zarek in jail again!

I like the idea of Gaeta springing Zarek too. Gaeta certainly ends up on the Colonial One at some point. I'm just wondering how Zarek and Gaeta get the rebellion started with the Galactica crew. And I'm still wondering how Baltar fits into it all.

Maybe he's officially springing Zarek. Having no guard at the brig seems especially bad, even for Galactica security.

Hmm...it does make a little more sense that Zarek would be in there. I'm thinking of that scene that they released a while ago with Zarek saying, "I'm here running the government," and Adama saying, "For now."

Also, the fact of the wide open door suggests to me that the prisoner is someone the Marines don't think of as a physical threat, and that the visitor is one of their own. That too would also suggest Gaeta visiting Zarek.

What I find interesting to contemplate though is if Zarek's speech about all revolutions beginning with "one small act of rebellion" takes place here. If so, does that mean Gaeta has already done "one small act of rebellion" or that they are plotting one in the brig?
At any rate, I'm really excited about 4.5. I do think it's going to exceed our normal daily allowance of Gaeta. :)

If Adama throws Zarek in the Brig just because he doesn't like the idea of Zarek running the government I'll be pretty annoyed. But it might be a good understandable way to kick off the revoltion. Seriously, Zarek's in the Brig and the cylons aren't?

I'm just pointing out, for the record? Most amputees with prostetic legs roll their pants down.

Now I'm getting images of Gaeta in high school with high top sneakers and his pants rolled up, and bad rugby shirts :) (Guess when I was in high school!) But yeah, normally he seems to be fairly reasonably dressed and have some sense of style. Maybe he's still not used to it and the fabric catches in the metal parts?

I would say no, that its an ostentatious display on the part of the producers that Gaeta is missing a leg.

(tho I get your humor)

I mean... come on.

::giggle:: yeah, I assumed that, too. "JUST IN CASE YOU ALL FORGOT..."

Maybe Zarek will clue him in on the fashion tip. It would be easier on the CGI department, too.

Maybe he's subconsciously fishing for sympathy? When I broke my foot/ankle (I'm talented like that) I always rolled up the leg of my jeans. I'd tell people it was because I didn't want the cast to stretch out the denim but later I realised I just wanted more attention. :(

Or, Space Pirate.

(Guess when I was in high school!)

'Bout the same time I was. We're just four months about. (I checked your userinfo page because the all age-related comments were leading me to believe you were in your 50s. News: I'm really just a kid, and therefore, so are you :-P)

Also...the prosthetic leg makes him even more vulnerably cute, I think.

I finally watched the trailer- I think Gaeta's in the brig. From the snippet in the trailer it looks like they were talking, and Gaeta was in the chair then he stood up and held his hand out for Zarek to shake, so I'm thinkin', maybe Gaeta's the evil mastermind behind the rebellion? :D

[info]falafel_musings

January 10 2009, 22:51:13 UTC 3 years ago

Yep, the way the trailer was shot had me thinking it was Gaeta in the Brig too. So maybe he does start the rebellion - Zarek almost suggests it with his "One small act of courage" line. There's also the "pity frak" and the "resturaunts shaped like food" lines. Maybe Gaeta gets so crazy that he reports to the Brig and asks to be locked up?

Or maybe he's caught trying to swipe morpha XD... Somewhere, whether at YYKTT.com or in one of the promos, you can hear Gaeta say "some day soon, there's going to be a rebellion" or something very close to it. Maybe someone catches him bitching about the order falling apart and has him locked up for insubordination (I'm guessing on the spelling) and Zarek hears about it and he's like WTF and goes to see what's up... Jeeeez, I don't think I've ever been so wound up in a show. @_@

Or maybe he uses the "some day soon," line with Tigh in CIC, who tells him to limp his ass down to the brig (as that's how Tigh deals with underlings owning him *Starbuck*)

About being wound up in a show, I feel you on that one. I had to stop and say, wait now you're a frakker fanatic like whoa...

I'm not sure exactly. The cap was posted on battlestar_blog. You could try searching on youtube, but there are a LOT of different trailers out there.

Hmmm. After dowloading and playing in Quicktime...and slowing down the frames...

Gaeta OFFERS his hand and Zarek TAKES it. Gaeta's scheming...

Just letting everyone know- I got that line wrong. It's-

"One day soon, there's going to be a reckoning."

Carry on.
